Wow, landed at Frankfurt OK but experienced my first case of slow to arrive luggage (my bicycle of course). In true Owen fashion I was rescued by my seatmate 1st Sgt Jason Manicke who lives nearby and put me up until the bike was delivered. In the meantime we drove a few Km to Domdechant
Werner'sches in Hochheim and tasted several delicious dry and off-dry Riesling in the beautiful courtyard winery/residence
with Herr Franz Werner Michel. (I'm now sipping the heavanly, honeyed '06 Hochheimer Kirchenstuck Auslese.)
Next door is Weingut Franz Kunstler but we didn't have time. Maybe later. The weather is perfect here, the roads are everywhere like new. The villages are incredible. This is some seriously great cycling
Tomorrow I have a longish ride down the Rhein to Weingut Keller in Florsheim-Dalsheim NW of Worms in the Rheinhessen. Herr Keller is one of the 2 or 3 very best producers in Germany.
